Grovedale Community Orchard 10th Year Anniversary
Event description
🎉🎉🎉We are celebrating 10 years of the Grovedale Community Orchard🎉🎉🎉
The Grovedale Community Orchard is the main ongoing living project of Transition South Barwon. This urban space is open to everyone in the community and promotes sustainable practices and food security for a healthy and strong community. Inspired by permaculture design principles The Orchard has to date over 30 fruit trees, more than 10 nitrogen-fixing trees and a variety of herbs, flowers and native plants to promote local biodiversity. Over the last decade, hundreds of people from our community of postcode 3216 and surroundings have contributed to this unique project participating in our educational workshops, working bees, food swaps and community activities.
In this opportunity, we gather at The Orchard once more for a casual celebration of this successful community project. In the evening of the 22nd of November we will have the following:
- Invited speakers 🗣️
- Live music🎺, Seal Prince and the Roof Rats
- Visual display of the history of the orchard 🖼️
- Shared supper 🍰
Please bring a plate to share if possible for the supper and networking time.
This event is free, donations for the Orchard are welcomed 😃
See you soon!
